The purpose of the grievance procedure is to protect the rights of the parties. “Party” shall mean an aggrieved employee, his immediate supervisor, the school principal, or any staff member below the Superintendent who may be affected by the determination of the Superintendent in connection with the procedure herein established. “Immediate supervisor” shall mean the person to whom the aggrieved employee is directly responsible under the Table of Organization prevailing in this district. “Representative” shall mean the Hamilton Township Administrators’ Association or any person appointed by that Association to act for or represent it on its behalf. “Employee” or “administrative employee” shall mean any member of the bargaining unit as defined in Article 1 of this agreement. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.A “grievance” is a claim by an employee or the Association based upon the interpretation, application or violation of this agreement, written Board policies or administrative decisions that affect terms and conditions of employment. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth-highest of eight groupings.
